Terms of Use

Effective October 11, 2026

The short version: your maps are yours. Veery stores and shows them so you can use the service. Use it lawfully and kindly, keep your sign-in safe, and remember it’s a young service offered as-is.

About these terms

Veery is run by Steven Budden (“Veery,” “we”). By creating an account or using Veery, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Veery.

Your account

Your content stays yours

You own the maps, text, photos, and files you put in Veery. You give Veery permission to store, copy, display, and transmit them only as needed to run the service for you: saving them, syncing them across your devices, showing them to people you share with, and producing the exports you request. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in routine backups that are overwritten on their normal schedule.

Only upload content you have the right to use. When you share a map or turn on a public link, you’re responsible for who you share it with and what it contains.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use Veery to:

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why when we reasonably can.

The service

Veery is free to use for now and is still being developed, so features will change. We may add, change, or remove features, and will give reasonable notice before discontinuing the service so you can download your maps. If Veery introduces paid plans, you’ll be told in advance and won’t be charged without agreeing.

Keep your own copies of anything important. The account panel’s “Download all my maps” makes that easy.

Ending your use

You can stop using Veery and delete your account at any time from the account panel. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or when the law requires it.

No warranties

Veery is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work to keep it reliable and secure, but can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that content will never be lost.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Veery and its operator won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Veery is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Veery in the twelve months before the claim, or $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and signed-in users will be told in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Veery after that means you accept the updated terms.
